Mcleodganj is a town nestled with lush greenery and hills.It is situated in Himachal Pradesh,India.It is popular as one of the best places to enjoy snowfall in Himachal.Thousand of tourists visit here every year.Being a spiritual gateway this town is really famous.In 1960 the 14th Dalai Lama,Lama Tenzin Gyatso came here from Tibet.Dalai Lama made this little town.It was his permanent residence.

One can visit here at any time of the year but summer season is the peak time to visit here.The coldest months of Mcleodganj are December to February.This time mountains are covered with white snow.The temperature goes down to 7 degree celsius in winter.you can visit here from March to June.During this time the normal temperature is about 34 degree celsius.

 Himachal Road Tourism Corporation(HRTC) provides deluxe,non deluxe,AC buses from Delhi,Manali Dehradun to Mcleodganj.This is an overnight journey.It takes around 13 hours to complete.Mcleodganj is 240 kilometres from Manali,250 kilometres from the Chandigarh,500 kilometres from Delhi city.One can also take taxis from Dharamshala to Mcleodganj.It takes around 30 minutes.The distance is 5.5 kilometres.NH 20 is well connected with Mcleodganj.Roads are connected with many north Indian cities.This roads are narrow roads.Trained driver need to drive in this hilly region.

By Train:

The closest broad gauge railway station is Pathankot.This is 100 kilometres from here.Closest railway station is Kangra which is a narrow gauge railway station.This is 30 kilometres from Mcleodganj.People who love train journey it is for them.It takes longer time because it is a toy train.The direct trains are from Delhi,Jammu tawi,Amritsar,Haridwar.
